FAQ – Tickets and Reservations

Art Film cinepasses can be purchased in person or online at a discount – with the MyCinepass reservation system. Begin by registering in the system; once you create an account, you will be able to make purchases. If you already have an account from last year, simply log in. Registration is not necessary for single-entry tickets; certain types of tickets are also available through the MyCinepass reservation system.

What is a reservation? Do I need to make one?

Reservations can be made by any cinepass or accreditation holder. Since most screening venues have a limited capacity, we recommend reserving a seat in advance.  Seats can be reserved through the reservation system or at festival box offices / reservation points up to one hour before the screening begins.

The simplest way to reserve a seat is by using our MyCinepass system. Once you create an account, you can buy a cinepass and reserve seats for films online, without having to wait at a registration point.

Cinepasses can be purchased via the MyCinepass reservation system starting on 15 February 2024. The list of films will be regularly updated on the reservation system site. Reservations for individual films using purchased cinepasses (virtual cards) will be made available several days before the festival begins.

What does the MyCinepass reservation system do?

The MyCinepass system is aimed at all festival visitors, making it easier for you to manage your reservations and buy tickets. All you have to do is register to create your own account, buy a cinepass and enjoy the festival.  If you already created a MyCinepass account at last year’s festival or a different event, simply log in.

How do I buy a cinepass through the MyCinepass reservation system?

Advance sale of cinepasses via the MyCinepass reservation system begins on 15 February 2024. To purchase a cinepass or activate an older one, proceed as follows:

  1. Register in the MyCinepass system by filling in the registration form. After registering successfully, you will be automatically logged in and given access to the purchase section. Alternatively, if you already created an account last year, simply log in.
  2. Purchase a cinepass and review your billing information.  The MyCinepass reservation system requires a MasterCard, Maestro, VISA, VISA Electron or payment methods Google Pay and Apple Pay to make purchases online. Other payment methods are not supported. Each visitor can only purchase a single cinepass on their account.
  3. Upon payment, you will immediately receive a “Virtual Card” – a temporary cinepass that you can use to make reservations (in accordance with the applicable terms) as soon as they are available in the system.

However, your Virtual Card will not grant you entry to screenings. For that, find a registration point (generally located near each screening venue) when you first visit the festival, and ask them to issue you your plastic cinepass card. This service is free of charge. Your cinepass will already hold all of the reservations you’ve made up to that point.

A cinepass you own from last year can be activated for a fee. If the system has a record of your older cinepass on your account, it will offer you the option of activating it when you begin your order. This way you can go straight to the cinema without needing to replace anything.

Ticket types

What is a single-entry ticket?

This type of ticket can be bought before a screening or via the MyCinepass reservation system. It is valid for a single screening.

What is a cinepass?

A cinepass is an all-festival pass for casual visitors; it grants entry to all public festival screenings, as long as there is still available seating. A cinepass acts as an entrance ticket – no additional ticket needs to be obtained for entry. However, precedence is given to visitors with reservations and single-entry tickets. You can buy a cinepass using the MyCinepass reservation system or at any sales / registration point for the entire duration of the festival. Cinepass holders are entitled to entry to all festival screenings in the following cases:

  • If they have a reservation for the given screening and arrive at the venue no later than five minutes before showtime.
  • If not, reservation and ticket holders are admitted first. If capacity allows, cinepass holders without reservations will be admitted no earlier than five minutes before the screening begins.
What is an accreditation pass?

An accreditation pass is a special kind of cinepass for festival guests, journalists, film professionals and festival staff. Accreditation cannot be purchased normally and is provided on an individual basis. Unlike a cinepass, an accreditation pass displays the holder’s name, photograph and accreditation type.
