Film is more than just a virtual moving picture; it’s an elastic material perforated on both edges and coated with a light-sensitive emulsion that captures images. This isn’t common knowledge anymore. At the workshop Cut Your Own, everyone can get a hands-on look at the film editing process. And the reward will be your very own collective film, officially screened at Art Film Fest.   

What will you learn about at the workshop?

• Geocaching – the playful hunt for film material and other cinematic treasures
• editing – cutting and splicing parts of a film strip with the help of specialized equipment
• film postproduction – experimenting with film strips
• Lomography – borrow Lomo still and video cameras free of charge, courtesy of lomography.sk; developing negatives
• premiere – a genuine public cinema screening of the resulting collective experimental film –  22. 6.: 22:00 Kino Prameň
