Startdust Memories (SM)

This newly established section follows up and adapts the highly appreciated showcase Cult!, a part of the festival’s previous incarnations. Its selection of films is oriented towards pictures from the recent past of a variety of genres: the chosen octet features drama, documentary, horror, comedy, mystery, fantasy, Western and thriller.

At the same time, each title is a significant, time-tested work, featuring renowned filmmakers and star performers; films such as director Bob Rafelson’s Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson, Monsieur Hulot's Holiday, featuring director and star Jacques Tati, and director John Frankenheimer’s The Manchurian Candidate with Frank Sinatra.

Viewers will have the rare opportunity to see these titles back on the big screen, using newly restored prints.
