International Competition of Short Films (SH)

Lots of people love short films as a “mere” refreshing break from the full-length “mainstream”. But this competition of short-length films offers each viewer the chance to discover an up-and-coming generation of filmmakers, and to even compare fresh film-school experiments with professionally produced pictures, under the scrutiny of seasoned directors from around the world. With a proper dose of originality, these artists express a range of temperaments in their work: disappointment, alienation, defiance, fear, sorrow, even joy and happiness, but not always of the usual sort. They confront these themes and motifs through a variety of approaches - from fictional and animated to documentary and experimental. Their only limit is one of time - up to thirty minutes in length.
