As of 1 January 2009 Act No 516/2008 Coll. on Audiovisual Fund came into force, which established Slovakia’s first public institution aimed to support the audiovisual culture in Slovakia. Discussion is the prime opportunity for the Audiovisual Fund representatives and cinema audiences to come to terms with what is regarded as essential when shaping a new system of public support. The discussion will be attended by foreign participants to create space for sharing their inspiring experience with founding and running similar funds. The discussion has been prepared in cooperation with the Audiovisual Fund.

The discussion will tackle the topical issues that the Slovak distribution market is currently being faced with, especially from the Slovak films distribution perspective and the particular activities relating to distribution – distribution strategy, marketing, and cinema scheduling. The debates will be attended by distributors, producers, cinema-runners and the representatives of the Audiovisual fund.
